School policies
The governing body maintains a whole range of policies and these are available to parents in the school office. All policies are reviewed regularly – usually every two to three years unless changes in legislation require a more immediate change. The vast majority of policies have to be approved by the full governing body with approval for a minority of curriculum-based policies delegated to the Curriculum Committee.

Staff and governors at Hatherden are committed to providing the very best for each and every child in the school. Occasionally however, parents/carers may feel that they have cause to complain. The governors have a rigorous complaints policy to which we would ask parents/carers to adhere. If an issue cannot be resolved at class teacher level, informal discussion with the headteacher is recommended as the next course of action. Where informal discussion fails to resolve the issue(s), then a written complaint to the headteacher may be in order. If there is still a level of parental/carer dissatisfaction, or if the complaint relates to the headteacher, then the complainant may write formally to the Chair of Governors via the school office.
Copies of key policies, including the complaints policy, are available through the links above.
